Dear DMFC : Let's all raise our glasses on New Years eve to the greatest entertainer that ever lived... Cheers, Dino!
(Murphy Bryer - Montana)

Dear DMFC : This past month, I caught the two part episode of "Charlie's Angels" with Dean Martin in it. I know all those Dean Martin fans out there across the world enjoyed it as much as I!
(Jean - Oregon)

Dear DMFC : Dean, I know that you are up there reading this. We lost you five years ago on Christmas Day, but your soul lives on through so many of us everyday. The thoughts of Christmas wouldn't be the same without hearing your soothing voice and recalling the memories you gave to all of us. In 45 minutes, my first Christmas toast will go out to you!
(Richard Archman - Canada)

Dear DMFC : God Bless Dean Martin.
(Carol Madison - Florida)

Dear DMFC : Just returned from some last minute "Christmas Eve" shopping up at the local mall and I'm happy to say that "Dino" holiday tunes were piping in "loud & clear' over the speakers for all to enjoy !! Its nice to know Dean is still with all of us throughout the holiday season & all year long. At the last "DinoFest"in Steubenville, during your auction, my friend bid on and received a large photo-print of "all the guys" taken during the filming of "Oceans Eleven" !! She gave it to me as a gift and I'm happy to say I have it hanging near the Christmas tree for the holiday season for all to enjoy !! A very "Happy Holiday" season to all .
(Johnny Perhala - Ohio)

Dear DMFC : I saw the Perry Como bio last night, and it got me to thinking. Why isn't there a crooners TV station? With so many other different channels, and such fragmented ratings, surely such a channel could be successful. There must be a wealth of old programs out there, and it could also provide a much needed outlet for up-and-comers. As far as I'm concerned, music has been virtually dead for about 2 decades; this might be just the catalyst to revive some worthwhile listening. I'm sure Dean's show would be the major pivot of such an endeavor.
(Claudio DeMarco)

Dear DMFC : Wow! I just received my new December issue of the fan club magazine, and it is the best yet! Reading about the Golddiggers reunion is worth the price of a years dues alone. Happy Holidays everyone!
Ted Sangria - New Jersey)

Dear DMFC : I wish everyone at the Fan Center and every Dino fan in the world a very happy and safe holiday season! To Dino's family, thank you for being a classy family in keeping his memory alive and well. God bless you all and Dino! Love,
(Marie Macchiarella - Florida)

Dear DMFC : As I was Christmas Shopping at the mall, I walked by a tuxedo shop, and noticed a display with a gentleman (mannequin) that looked just like Dean Martin. It caught my eye, so I walked in to find a whole display with Dean in a black tuxedo and a sign reading "Look as good as the best this New Years eve. Everybody Loves Somebody dressed well". It is great!
(Gail Schroeder - Minnesota)

Dear DMFC : I was sooo fortunate to get Dean Martins autograph on a 8x10 in Nov of 95, 1 month before my favorite singer passed away. Dean, your photo is framed and hung in my living room. You're the best!
(Tony C. - California)

Dear DMFC : Hi, Just reporting…I don't normally watch "ER" anymore, but happened to catch the last half hour Dec. 14th, and wouldn't you know…during the skating scene at Rockefeller Center, what music was playing in the background of the characters' conversation? Why, none other than Dean's "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow", nearly the whole song and very easy to hear. His music IS everywhere, and we LOVE it!
(Ann Hockey - Canada)

Dear DMFC : I just recently discovered this website. It has been permanently marked at home and work as a favorite place. I have also sent in my form to join this fan club. I remember growing up as the only little girl in my grandfather's (poppi's) house. He was a huge Dino fan as well as my Nonna. Poppi used to sing Dino to me all the time. When my son Dominic was born last summer, he was no stranger to Dino either. My Nonna and myself had been signing "That's Amore" and "Innamoratta" to him since he was in my tummy. He recognizes Dino's voice every time a play a C.D. My poppi would have been so proud. (He passed away many years ago.) I just want to say what a great job you are doing. They just don't make things the way they used to and this to me is way to make time stand still as well as bring back fond memories.
I was also wondering if you could add "Innamoratta", "Sway", "Cryin' like a Baby", and the Italian version of "On An Evening In Roma" to the lyric center. Thanks again, and Keep Smilin'!
(Mrs Brenda Konop (Detomasi) - Illinois)

Dear DMFC : Rick Nelson has been my favorite singer, since 1959. When I saw Rio Bravo, it was Dean Martin, who caught my eye. I have seen all of Dean's movies and own many of his CD's. I loved his TV show! I was thrilled for him, when Everybody Loves Somebody became such a huge hit. Visiting your site has been a pleasure. December brings special memories of Dean and Rick. We lost two gems, when they passed on. PS. Matt Helm was the sexiest detective...ever! Sincerely,
(Leda Carmody)

Hi Leda - As a Ricky Nelson fan, you probably already know that the brand new 4 cd box set, "Rick Nelson Legacy" includes the duet with Dean "My Rifle, My Pony and Me" from the movie they appeared in together, 'Rio Bravo'. The set is on the Capitol Label # 72435-29521-2-0 and if you're interested in obtaining one, you can take a short cut to our store to see this box set and decide if you would like to purchase it. Just click HERE ... For Rick Nelson fans, it includes some unreleased songs and some alternate versions!
(Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center)

Dear DMFC : I saw the show with Regis and heard him mention your fan club for my very favorite singer, Dean Martin. I am so glad that he mentioned you on his show so I could join and become a member. Dean was the highlight of our lives. I grew up with Dean and Jerry Lewis, then Dean with Frank Sinatra, then Dean by himself. His TV show was the very best. Then came his records. In the 1970's we would all have Dean Martin tapes in our cars. Even those who were listening to the rock music like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, they too had a Dean Martin tape tucked away in their glove compartments. He appealed to everyone. I better go now. I will join the club today.
(Marjorie Williams - Kansas)

Dear DMFC : I recently purchased the CD "Making Spirits Bright"... I have played it continuously at work and I look forward to each song... especially "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "A Marshmallow World"... After listening all day at work to Dean's voice, I came home to see Dean featured on TV's "Biography"... What a great day! And what a handsome, true gentleman...
Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to voice how much I realize that Dean Martin was, and always will be, a true national treasure...
(Clare Abadie

Dear DMFC : I just saw the new movie "Vertical Limit". Near the beginning of the movie there is a scene with two guys listening to a song about praying for rain in California and being stuck in a honkey in Chicago. I had heard the song before but couldn't remember the title or the artist. The credits at the end of the movie listed the title of the song: "Little Old Wine Drinker Me" but didn't list the artist. Well, after seeing the movie I couldn't get the song out of my head. So I surfed the web and landed here. That was Dean Martin singing that song in "Vertical Limit"! I thought that voice sounded familiar! Anyway, congratulations on a neat site, and thanks for your help.
(Joe Roth - Texas)

Dear DMFC : I wanted to remind everybody that this is the time to go out and get Dean Martin's 'Making Spirits Bright' cd for the holidays. The stores don't put these out all year, just around Christmas, so go get one now and enjoy the King of Cool and his wonderful in the mood music.
(Terri Balkin - Arizona)

Dear DMFC : I saw your Fan Center mentioned by Regis this morning on Live! and could not wait to get home to search you out. Dean Martin has been such an important part of my life growing up. My Mom and Dad would always have his records on the phonograph, and I remember every Thursday night, all of us (including my two younger brothers) would be glued to the TV set watching him slide down his pole into his den to singing to us for an hour. He had a charm and way about him that we all admired. To all the fans out there who have already found this bulletin board, I want to say 'hi', and that you've just met another fan who will be here reading on a daily basis.
(Mike Barrett - Michigan)

Dear DMFC : Please enter me in the Dean Martin Fan Center Contest!!!!! I am 45 and still a big Dean Martin fan. As a young girl, I swooned over Dino at the picture show; his records (pilfered from my parents' stash) were scratched to bits on my Motorola record player. I eventually outgrew my crush on older men, and am now married to a 28-year-old who has not yet experienced Dean Martin's charm. I plan to bookmark your site and send him there immediately! Thanks,
(Lonne Martinec - Texas)

Dear DMFC : My brother called me because he heard that Regis Philbin mentioned a fan club for Dean Martin on his show this morning. It took a while, but I finally managed to track you down. Please send me more information and tell everyone that Dean is missed.
(Karen Strathmore - California)

Dear DMFC : Dean is the best! Our whole dorm plays Dean music constantly around the halls here.
(Billy Randall - USC - California)

Dear DMFC : What a wonderful thing for Regis Philbin to tell everyone about your magazine and club for Dean Martin. Dean has always been my favorite, and I love to hear when Regis mentions that he admired the man too. Dean Martin kept all me laughing and loving his songs. I miss the fact that he is no longer with us. Thank you for keeping his memory alive.
(Mrs. Yorkman - Maryland)

Dear DMFC : The Golddiggers had a reunion? I saw it on Regis this morning. Tell me more! I would love to hear about the Golddiggers today.
(Pat Sarcia - New Jersey)

Dear DMFC : Regis Philbin just told us on his show about your magazine on Dean Martin and that he had a fan club. I would have never known that Dean had so much going on. This is a wonderful site!
(Phil Jaylord - New York)

Dear DMFC : I saw your website information on the back of Dean's latest release here in the UK, and am thrilled to know that you are honouring him with your work. All us fans here love the man. I wish we could see the television shows that we all here about. Maybe someday. For now, we have his music and movies.
(Andrew Schilling - U.K.)

Dear DMFC : Did you guys know that the Digital Goddess of the Airwaves, Kim Komando, has you listed as one of her favorite sites? Her opinion is very highly taken in the computer world. Here is the address, check it out- www.komando.com/other/kool_sites/entertainment/19990129_2053.shtml
(Alex Horne - Washington)

Dear DMFC : Hi, wow ! hey ! am I ever glad I found this site ! I have always been a big Dino fan - I had written to Dean the year before he died -it was a get well card with a few words thanking him for the years of great entertainment he gave us ... and I almost fell on my rear when he sent me an autographed 8X10 ..... what a guy ..... I miss him greatly - I still play at least one of his tunes every day at home - even my kids know who he was.... and I'm proud of that !
(Larry Macdonald - CANADA)

Dear DMFC : I like Dean Martin's old movies with any of the stars he has performed with. He is good in all of them. It's a shame that he died so young and also lost his son Dino. Is there going to be a reunion with his kids and the other stars kids like Desi Jr. and the rest, etc. It would be nice to all of them do a special on TV to pay their respects to their Dads.Let me know. Thanks
(Nightsale)

Dear DMFC : I couldn't wait to tell you guys that I was out today shopping for Christmas and one of the stores in the mall has a giant display with Dean Martin in a tux (from the tux shop) surrounded by a bunch of girls (wearing clothes from the department stores in the mall), holding a champagne glass (from the wine & spirits store), with his greatest hits playing on a cd box from the Radio Shack store. It is the neatest display in the whole place, and EVERYBODY stops and makes comments as the walk past it. Wow, I'll take my camera next time, and get some pictures for you guys!
(Donna Schuster - New York)

Dear DMFC : At a talent contest at school, I performed a Dean Martin song in front of my school. I sang "That's Amore", and got the top prize. The schools music director also wants me to enroll in voice lessons and wanted to help. Dean is the best!
(Les {age 12 } U.K.)

Dear DMFC : I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving in memory of Dean Martin. We always think of him this time of year!
(June Peabody - Washington)

Dear DMFC : I wonder if all of the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts are going to be released. I counted that there were 54 individual people roasted, with a couple of 'roastees" being roasted twice over the years.
(Lynne McCaffey - Colorado)

Dear DMFC : With Thanksgiving in America coming, I would like to count my blessings that I have been able to hear Dean Martin's wonderful voice all of my life. Also with the age of film and video, I am able to see him in visual images whenever I wish to. That's what I am thankful for
(Sid Frazer - Arizona)

Dear DMFC : I have just became a member of the Dean Martin Fan club. This is a big honor for me, because I also have grown up listening and watching Dean Martin on the Radio and Television. I have recently turned 50 years old. My lovely wife and four daughters know that I love Dean Martin and threw me a surprise Birthday party.
The theme was a Dean Martin Roast with all Dino's music in the background, not to mention a few guest speakers who got in a few shots. Also there were great pictures of Dino and the Rat Pack. It was a night I will never forget. All of my daughters and their friends have discovered a new Singer. How could they not discover Dean, when all they hear from my CD player is Dean's music. I am having a great time on this web site and look forward to the next
issue of the Dean Martin Magazine.
(Ron Klegerman - Illinois)

Dear DMFC : Since Dean Martin died I try to keep him alive here in Lanark by singing in concert's at the school. But when Dean died on the 25 December 1995, I was heart broken and to this day I can still remember what the news said "This morning DEAN MARTIN Died". I have 9 of his CD's and a copy of a picture of him.
(David Kyle, Age 14 - U.K.)

Dear DMFC : I recently returned from Las Vegas, where I go every year for a week. The town is every changing, and even though it is fun to go and gamble and see the sights, my memories of the old Las Vegas is still with me. I remember seeing both Dean Martin's show and Frank Sinatra's show many times. It was a different pace. Actually, even a more fun time and place to be. Now it's just an amusement park. I come home, and go back to work not giving it a thought, but the old days are memories that keep returning to me. I miss Dean and Frank.
(F.R. Patella - Michigan)

Dear DMFC : What do the lyrics "I match the man behind the bar for the jukebox" mean?(From the song "Little Ole Wine Drinker Me")
(Jenny Coffey - IRELAND)

Hi Jenny- We get asked this question quite often. It must be a 'slang' expression that we use here in the States. "Matching" is a simple game. Two people flip a coin (usually a quarter) into the air. If both of them come back down 'matching sides' (either both 'heads' or both 'tails' of the coin), then they "Match", and the winner is the person who initiated the game.
If one coin is different than the other (on 'head' and one 'tail') then the opponent wins. According to the song, the loser must put HIS quarter into the jukebox to hear the next song.
A couple of similar games come to mind... "Pitching Pennies". That is a game where two or more people can stand behind a line and throw a penny at a wall. The closest coin landing on the floor, nearest the wall, wins all the other coins.
Also there is a game we played as kids called "Paper, Scissors, Rock". Two people play and at the count of three ... 1 - 2 - 3, you have to show one of the choices with hand jesters. The game goes like this... "Rock breaks scissors", "Scissors cut paper", etc. It's usually a game with no money involved for kids.
That was probably a longer answer than you really wanted! I am sure that in the future, with the fast changing times, we will be getting e-mails asking "What is a 'JUKEBOX' ?"
Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center

Dear DMFC : There isn't much talk about Dean Martin since the beginning of the summer. Has the wave of the "Rat Pack" popularity hit it's peak?
(Robert DeSault - Pennsylvania)

Dear Robert - On the contrary... the next issue of our Fan Center's magazine is overloaded with information on what has been happening these last couple of months. The cover story is all about the fabulous "Golddiggers" reunion and champagne/book signing event held at the exclusive Magic Castle in Hollywood. They even dedicated the bar that was used on Dean's TV show to the "Golddiggers".
Also covered is an event that Ricci (Dean's son) emceed and sang at, all for the fight against cancer in the memory of his late brother-in-law, Carl Wilson (of the Beach Boys).
There was also a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Dean Martin and a Golden Achievement Award given to his daughter, Deana who accepted both.
Now that's a lot of stuff crammed into one issue. It's been a very busy time in "Dinoland"!
Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center

Dear DMFC : Could you please tell me what city dimmed it's lights in honor of Dean Martin's passing?
(Laurie DeSatz - Michigan)

Hi Laurie - We were bombarded with over one hundred e-mails in a fifteen minute period this morning, all asking the same question. It seems that there is a game called "Slingo" on the Internet, that has asked this as their "question of the day". All the answers are names of cities in the month of November. Well, for those of you who are coming to us for the answer... try "Las Vegas", and good luck to each and every one of you. Thanks for dropping by...
Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center

Dear DMFC: Hello, I'll be visiting the New York area in the next few weeks. Also, the Big Apple was mainly Frank's turf, I was wondering if there's any don't miss Dino sites I should check out. Thanks for the help.
(Aroxen)

Dear DMFC : Love your site. Is there anywhere one can find videotapes of the Golddiggers show, in any of its many incarnations?
(Ronald Bremmer)

Hi Ronald - Unfortunately, we have never seen any copies of the Golddiggers shows floating around, due to the fact that they were televised before home VCR's were available. Hopefully these shows will see the light of day once again, since there were so many wonderful moments and guest stars on these shows. I might add that in our next issue of the Fan Center's magazine for members, we have pictures from the Golddiggers Reunion Party. It's due out in December.
(Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center)

Dear DMFC : I don't know if it's because this is Southern California or what, but I had THREE small kids (around 12 to 14) come to my door for Halloween, dressed in small tuxedos and calling themselves Dino or Dean Martin. I'm happy to say that none of them had a drink in their hands or were smoking a cigarette, but one of them actually had a 'boom-box' and put it down on my porch, started the tape, and when I opened the door, he had his hands outstretched, mouthing the words to "That's Amore". I wish I could have had a recorder right then and there. He was so darling, and even reminded me so much of the real Dean Martin, with his little tux, his hair done up so neatly, and his big smiling face. I yelled to his mother on the sidewalk, that she needs to think about getting him into show business. Is 'Star Search' still on?
(Jamie Mullion - California)

Dear DMFC : Hi Guys. Just found the site and love it. I was around 12 when I started buying Dean Martin records, though I'd sort of heard of him before that age. I am now coming up to 35 (wow, doesn't time fly!) and I am just as big a fan as I was all those years ago.
I was lucky enough to see the governor in person firstly at The Apollo in London and latterly at the palladium and I must say they were evenings I will never forget as long as I live. I was 17 at the time I first saw Dean in London, my first time away alone and the excitement was terrific, but to see my idol on top of that was fantastic.
Thanks again for keeping the memory alive. Regards
(Neil Ogley -U.K.)

Dear DMFC : I began singing along with Dean when I was very small. Now I am 48, and still love the music, and the man. I would really like to get a tape out there for someone to hear. For years I once sang on the Old Steel Pier in Atlantic City and my latest concert was in the shower this morning... crooning along to "Everybody Loves Somebody" and "Somewhere There's a Someone." Years ago I had the pleasure of meeting Dean's son, Dino, in Columbus, Ms. where he was stationed in the Air Force (Columbus Air Force Base). Although
no one will ever be as good as Dean, I respect his music, style, and love to sing it. Dino told me it sounded 'just like him' at a talent show years ago. at a Holiday Inn in Columbus. Not many can appreciate, as you and I do, the true beauty of his voice. It's sad those days are gone when people enjoyed that easy listening style. I guess I'll hold onto it forever. Dean is still my favorite of all time! Thanks for letting me share.
(Gary Foster)

Dear DMFC : I have been a long time fan of Dino. My family recently roasted me for my 50th Birthday last August. Because I watch the Dean Martin Roasts and play his music all the time, my wife and four daughters planned a surprise Birthday Party Roast. They had all Dean's pictures on the wall along with his music playing in the background.
It was a night to remember.
(R.K. Legerman)

Dear DMFC : Did anyone know that Dean Martin performed at the Moulin-Rouge in Paris in the 1980's for charity? It was for the mentally disabled and an organization called the Franco-American Volunteer Service for the Mentally handicapped. I heard that he had given a lot of time and money to charities, and it's now nice to know that he is being recognized for it.
(Ted McCarson - New York)

Dear DMFC: I saw an article in the Orange County Register about Deana Martin accepting an award for her Dad, Dean Martin. That prompted me to do a search, and that's how I found you. I have been a Dean Martin fan for all my life (I'm 50 years old now). He was the one who just kept me going when I had some rough times growing up and getting through high school. While other my age were tripping out to Pot and drugs, I sought refuge in Dean's music and TV show to make me feel happy. My life has turned out excellent, and I thank Mr. Martin for his guidance. If Deana Martin or any other member of his family is reading this, please accept my warm and meaningful acknowledgment.
(Robert Kerrington - New Jersey)

Dear DMFC : Hi my name is Angie Smith. I'm 18 years old but feel like I lived in the time when Marilyn Monroe was Hollywood's new star, Elvis was getting in trouble for his gyrations, and Frank Sinatra was the man with the golden arm. I'm so in love with that era and for the first time ever, I watched a documentary on Dean Martin and fell in love. It's so great that people such as all of you preserve the memories of the true stars of the world! Thanks ever so!
(Angie Smith - Australia)

Dear DMFC: Hi, I recently heard that Dean martin had an appearance on Scooby Doo.... I know Don Rickles was on the cartoon, and so was Phyllis Diller....wondering if this is true. Thank you
(Chris)

Dear DMFC : Okay, I see by reading the bulletin board, that there has been so much going on recently. How about showing a few pictures on your bulletin board for all us fans to see?
(Erno Horning - Washington)

Hi Erno - All of our photos are going into our next issue of the Fan Club magazine that we publish. We've got a lot of pictures and the stories to go along with them. After the magazine becomes completed, we are planning on displaying a few photos for those of you who may not be members yet. If you're interested in the magazine, check out the fan club by clicking "Club Info" .
Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center

Dear DMFC : We attended the Roosters Monte Carlo Night tribute to Dean Martin and found out about your organization while enjoying ourselves very much. What a fun-filled night it was. Everyone had such a wonderful time. It was so nice to meet your chairman, and nothing could have been more exciting than to be able to meet Deana Martin (who might I add looked stunningly beautiful!). Her acceptance speech was more a down-to-earth thank you that showed it came from her heart. We just wanted to say again, how wonderful it was and how much we enjoyed it.
(Mrs. Barbara Coleman - California)

Dear DMFC : Ok, here's the thing, I'm a twenty-six year old girl and Dean is / was just so glamourous and laid back... you just don't get proper stars like that any more. Hence: I adore an icon who was the last word in cool long before I was born. Thing is, I didn't grow up listening to the music, my parents weren't / aren't keen, but as soon as I heard it I was hooked, and whenever I hear it now I am mesmerized and start to sway... Why don't we have more of this kind of class now? The Tom Jones & Cerys from Catatonia version of "Baby, it's cold outside" is one of my favourite releases of the last year, but mostly coz it reminds me of DM, it doesn't stand up in comparison to the real thing.
(Charlotte Wheeler - England)

Dear DMFC : My brother and I just saw a movie that we had never seen before called "The Sons of Katie Elder". This was a great western that I wanted to tell everybody about. We rented it a Blockbuster. It has John Wayne in it too, and if you like old westerns and cowboy movies like my brother and I do, then you will really like this one!
(Wayne Macco - South Carolina)

Dear DMFC : I just saw the post from the Courts on your chat board, and wanted to add that some of Dean's children were at the walk for Carl Wilson; Gina (Carl's wife), Ricci and Deana were all their too. They all looked like they were having a good time. I know that I did. I am a big Beach Boys fan, but when I gave some thought to the fact that Dean Martin's family was there, it made me search for information on Dean Martin. That's how I found your chat board. Excellent information! Very well done and easy to read. I will bookmark my visit here and come back very soon.
(Andrew Smith - California)

Dear DMFC : I have just returned home from a great weekend, thanks to you guys! After reading on your bulletin board about the Carl Wilson Walk Against Cancer, I called the number, bought two tickets, and attended the walk. So many stars were there performing. Christopher Cross, an original member of Chicago (Sorry, I don't remember his name), the Wilson daughters and the Honeys (Brian Wilson's girl group from the 60's). A bunch of others including Billy Hinsche (Dino, Desi and 'Billy'), Ricci Martin (Dean's son), and Brian Wilson himself!
Brian sang 5 songs that included Beach Boys hits, "Surfer Girl" and "Barbara Ann". Everything was so fantastic! We had the best time and were surprised how "laid back" the day was! Thanks again for letting us know all about this!
(Geri and Paul Courts - California)

Dear DMFC : I am glad that I read your bulletin board here, because the idea of a Rat Pack Halloween Party is the greatest. I'm stealing the idea for my group of friends too!
(Jessica Samber - California)

Dear DMFC : When Dean an the Rat pack played Las Vegas that was the best of times in Las Vegas. Today it looks like Coney Island or Disneyland. I would love to have just one Casino in Vegas like the old days.
(Jim Tott - Nevada)

Dear DMFC : Hello, I am 38 yr. old male. My sister is 35. When she was 4, my Grandmother went to Stuttgart, Ark. and bought a picture of Dean Martin in a black and white checkered suit (about 1966). I remember watching Matt Helm movies in Downtown Little Rock in late 60's. I was sent to orphanage in 1969. I walked into orphanage with Dean Martin album and James Brown album (walking in this old rain, going back to Houston, Houston, Houston). I think about Dean Martin a lot still. I hope someone will see this e-mail. Thanks. Bye for now. (Kevin - Arkansas)

Dear DMFC : Thanks for the tip on the Biography magazine article that I read on your bulletin board. I too have the same story as I have read before. My company is going to be putting on a Halloween Party for the employees, and everyone needs to come dressed as part of the theme. They choose to make it a "Rat Pack - Las Vegas" theme. I think most people are coming as Elvis, Wayne Newton, etc., but the top positions as Dean, Frank and Sammy are going to the owners. Actually, when I heard about it, I laughed. Our "Chairman of the Board" is going to be the real "Chairman of the Board". I can't even begin to describe to you the other owner who is coming as Dean, but his personality fit Dean's to a glove. We all talk about him, and he's not aware of how funny this is going to really be. I'll let you know after the party all about it.
(Dan Whiteburn - New York)

Dear DMFC : We have just started receiving our Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts from the company that is putting them out, and they are absolutely great! So much talent, so many people all together in groups on one stage is amazing. These were the years of all the big named stars. We can't wait to get them all!
(Helen and Ron Mitchell - Indiana)

Dear DMFC : It would be fun to get a list of all the movies that Dean had his songs in, either the ones he appeared in or the newer ones that just used his songs.
(Tom D. Williams - Texas)

Hi Tom - We are compiling a list for a future issue of the Dean Martin Fan Center's Fan Club Magazine. We would welcome anyone sending in their lists too!
Web Director - Dean Martin Fan Center

Dear DMFC : I know that there has been a lot of conversation and a lot of posts here about Dean's Television Shows being rerun again, but I just wanted to post again, so they will know that there is still interest. We all want to see them again!
(Marc Livingston - Canada)

Dear DMFC : September was a great month for Dean Martin movies on TV, but the month of October looks bleak. Let's hope that this coming Christmas Season will be filled with Dino!
(Carmen Tyler - South Carolina)

Dear DMFC : In the latest issue of "Biography Magazine" that's out, you will find that the back page is dedicated to Dean Martin as their "Lifeline" Tribute and essay.
(Don Harbect - New York)

Dear DMFC : Thank you for everything that you do. We have heard a lot about your Fan Club and how you are maintaining a lot of Dean's documents and items for future generations. He was the greatest!
(Jeffrey Tarkington - England)

Dear DMFC : I'll bet that Jerry Lewis has a ton of memorabilia and priceless film and recordings packed away in a vault someplace. Wouldn't it be nice if he would share some of his Martin and Lewis magic with us for those who missed the magically era?
(Susan and Alan Bolton - Illinois)

Dear DMFC : I met Dino at the Sands in Las Vegas in 1968. It was my honeymoon. I am still a very big fan of his. I have a lot of his cd's, but I wish I could get a picture of Dino. I would hold it dear to me for the rest of my life. "Everybody Loves Somebody" was our dance song at our wedding on 11-10-68. I cried when he passed away, but his music will live on . Love always from a little Italian girl...
(Marianne Linda Scionti)

Dear DMFC : I saw your web address in the new cd called "Dean Martin's Greatest Vol 2". I am so lucky to find you. There is not much news of Dean Martin here in the UK, even though he is so very popular at the moment. We have one place over here that talks about Dean, but it is not very good, and finding your place there in the States is a marvelous treat. I want to subscribe to your magazine, and also make purchase of some cds that I can add to my collection. Thank you for all that you do from one fan speaking for many.
(Darlene Spaver - United Kingdom)

Dear DMFC : I see by the previous posts that I wasn't the only one who had a good time at the Magic Castle last weekend. It is such a wonderful place and to be part of an evening to see the Golddiggers reunion, meet Lee Hale and be in the presence of so many wonderful entertainers and Dean's family, was marvelous! Please thank the Magic Castle for providing such a great treat!
(James Lawson - California)

Dear DMFC : This is the first time that I have written to you and I want to congratulate you on such a fantastic web site in honoring such a fabulous entertainer as Dean Martin. I've been a fan of his ever since I first heard him sing "You Belong To Me" when I was in the Army back in 1952. Ever since then I've try to style my singing voice after him and prior to having oral cancer (which destroyed my vocal chords) I used to called the "Dean Martin of Northern Virginia." While I was singing at a piano bar in Alexandria, Virginia a customer came out of the dining room to see if it was actually Dean Martin singing. He even gave the piano player a $5.00 tip to have me sing another Dean Martin song. That gesture made me feel good al over. Now that my singing days are over (I had the oral cancer in 1997) I'll have to go back to playing the trumpet after I get my lips back in shape. Well, I won't bore you with any more anecdotes, but, I did want to write and compliment you on your site. You're doing a fantastic job. Sincerely,
(C. V. 'Chris' Christian)

Dear DMFC : Hello I watched the TV show every Thursday Night at 10pm on NBC. I have many of Dean's Capitol Records and Reprise Records. I saw Dean Martin twice at the Riviera Hotel. Thanks
(Daniel)

Dear DMFC : As guests tonight at the Magic Castle, I met your fan club president, Neil Daniels, and he gave us a copy of your current magazine all about our favorite singer, Dean Martin. We were thrilled to know that there is a fan club for him, and equally impressed with the magazine. In attendance were Dean's wife, Jeanne, along with her family which included Gail and her husband, and Deana with her husband. A reunion of the Golddiggers group was the highlight of the evening, as well as meeting Mr. Lee Hale, who wrote a wonderful book about Dean and his TV show.
Now that we have found out all about your website, we will surely become members, and visit very often.
(Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey Shubert - California)

Dear DMFC : I just attended an evening at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles where a reunion of about 16 of Dean Martin's Golddiggers just took place. I could not believe my eyes! These ladies all look the same as they did many years ago. It was a splendid evening, topped off by a great time with Lee Hale, who was Dean's producer for the TV shows.
(Mrs. Ann Tyler - California)

Dear DMFC : In answer to Mike Hall's question, could you give us a bit more detail, such as the number on the record and what is on the reverse side? It sounds like it may be an impersonator.
(Carl Madden - Utah)

Dear DMFC : I recently tried out for a small part in a community play near here. The part was that of a singer who is the flame of all the young hearts across America set today. After the audition (Yes, I won the part), I was approached by a person sitting in the audience watching. He said that I had the looks and charm of singer Dean Martin, and asked me if I ever heard of him. "Of course!" I replied, but was in a state of dismay for a moment. I never had anyone tell me that I reminded them of Dean Martin! Well, needless to say, Since then, I have been constantly been looking in the mirror, and singing Dean Martin songs all the time. I am now actually "Thinking" like Dean Martin, and I had another person yesterday tell me the same thing, "You remind me of Dean Martin". Could something weird be happening? I have been a fan of his, along with Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme and Perry Como for years. Maybe some of their magic has rubbed off! I'll keep you informed of any further developments.
(Johnny LaRosa - Connecticut)

Dear DMFC : Can anyone tell me if Dean Martin ever used the name "Jimmy Farmer"? I recently came across an old 45 rpm record (Prom Records out of New Jersey) titled: "Memories are made of this" by "Jimmy Farmer and the Rockets". It sure sounds like Dean. Could it be an impersonator?
(Mike Hall - New Jersey)

Dear DMFC : Hi Folks, Just a quick note to say "GREAT SITE". As I write this message, I am listening to Dean sing "I'm Yours" on my computer's CD player. I first became familiar with Dean as the host of the Roasts, and it has only been in the last few years that I've really begun to appreciate his UNBELIEVABLE musical talent. There just won't ever be another like him, will there? Nope. Never. I sincerely wish you the greatest luck with all your endeavours. Yours,
(Brent Butt)

Dear DMFC : Right now the Jerry Lewis annual telethon is on (during our Labor Day Holiday in the United States). I can't help but always lend a thought to our dear Dean whenever the telethon is on every year. Of course, we will always remember the famous time when Frank Sinatra brought Dean out while Jerry was talking to the audience, but my memories go way back to the first telethon that BOTH Dean and Jerry hosted. These two guys were the biggest entertainers in the world! It's funny how , as time goes by, some people forget the power and magnitude these two gentlemen had over the world.
If you're listening Dean, there is still millions of us who remember you kind, giving soul. Thanks Jerry for helping us to remember!
(Milan Anderson - South Carolina)

Dear DMFC : Every time September comes along, I always think about it being another school year, and what I looked forward to most was the start of the new TV season. I always couldn't wait to see new episodes of the Dean Martin Show. I anticipated seeing how Dean had changed over the summers, and couldn't believe how he came back every year better looking all the time. I sure miss those days. Now I look at the lineup of shows they have today and want to puke.
(Sharon Givney - California)

Dear DMFC : I have been a member of the Dean Martin Fan Center's Fan Club for Dean for over 5 years now, and I have to say that I am amazed how many folks find your website and leave comments, but don't realize that you're website doesn't compare to the Fan Club and magazine that you guys put out. You need to make it known better that for a small amount, people will be amazed at the magazine that we get sent. I even heard a mention about the best "fanzines" being produced, and yours was mentioned in the top ten!
(Richard Burke - New York)

Dear DMFC : Hi, my name is Maurice Campagna, a 26 year old from Melborne, Australia. I'm so happy to come across a fan club in memory of the great Dean Martin. Excellent information. Keep up the good work. Sites like this remind fans how talented Dino was and how much we miss him.
(Maurice Campagna - Australia)

Dear DMFC : I have just attended a Saturday night party at a local restaurant / bar here in Philly, and they were having a Dean Martin sound-a-like contest with a host of a local radio show doing the honors. I had just found out about you guys a few weeks ago, and low-and-behold, everyone in the place was talking about your fan club and the magazine that you guys publish. Now I'm joining up for sure. Dean is the best!
(Lonnie Tyler - Pennsylvania)

Dear DMFC : I always liked Dean. He could sing, act & was funny. A real good person and he always gave me a laff. His show I thought was really good too and then the Roasts were also good. I alwas felt he was a friend, not just an entertainer.
(Ronald Arnold)

Dear DMFC : Hi, Thanks for creating and maintaining this site. It's a great archive, especially the song lyrics. Quick question -- a few years back Microsoft used a Dean Martin song in one of it's commercials to publicize the launch of Window 95 (98?) -- what was the name of that song?
(Mike Ranieri)

Hi Mike - We tried to send you an e-mail with the song title, but your e-mail address must not be configured properly, and it does not want to go to you, so we will post your answer on the board here... The song was "Relax-ay-voo", a duet Dean recorded in April of 1955 with popular French singer, Line Renauld. It was released by Capitol records (The other side was "Two Sleepy People" which was actually slated as the 'A' side for stations to play). The commercial that Microsoft aired produced a lot of mail when it first hit the airwaves, with everyone wanting to know about this forgotten treasure.
